How to use the salicylic acid

The manufacturer advises applying to clean, dry skin after cleansing every other night initially, then adjusting frequency as tolerated. Avoid the eye area, follow with moisturiser and apply sunscreen during the day. Follow the current product label and any individual advice you have received. Read the separate directions for other skincare you use rather than assuming every product has the same application routine.

For external use only. Avoid eyes and broken skin, patch test before first use and discontinue use if irritation occurs. The manufacturer’s caution is not to use this product during pregnancy. It may increase sun sensitivity. Ask your clinician if you have a suitability question. Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. A patch test does not guarantee that a later reaction will not occur.

If you use prescribed skincare or are choosing products around a clinic procedure, ask your treating practitioner about this actual salicylic acid and timing. A retail product is not automatically appropriate after laser, peeling or micro-needling, and does not replace prescribed care.
